Explore Southland’s key attractions such as Stewart Island, New Zealand's new national park, the Catlins, and the Southern Scenic Route, New Zealand’s most diverse touring route. Bluff, a 20 minute drive south from Invercargill is famous worldwide for its oysters, the signpost at the end of Highway One and its port. Here you can catch a ferry to Stewart Island.
Bill Richardson's Transport World

Oreti Beach
10 kilometres from the city of Invercargill, Oreti Beach is the central bay of three lying on the Foveaux Strait coast of Southland. It is 26 kilometres long, it is very accessible to drive on to. This is the site where Burt Munro practiced riding the Indian Motorbike with which he went to break records at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah.

Allow some time as there isn't another hardware store like it!
